World Class Leadership Team

How are we confident of delivering a World Class product? Simple, we have a world class team.

Pete Hunt

Founder of Monumental. Podcast Host. Architect of The Monumental Legacy.

Pete Hunt is the founder of Monumental, the leading private network for growth-focused men who lead. He created The Monumental Legacy as the flagship path for those ready to explore what comes next, not just in career, but in character, contribution, and connection.

A qualified Chartered Surveyor, Pete began his career at Knight Frank before moving into the financial sector with Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He later joined CBRE in Hong Kong, leading major real estate transactions before moving into private equity, where he raised over USD 15 million for frontier investment opportunities across Southeast Asia. But behind every milestone was a deeper inquiry taking shape.

These enquiries became the seed of Monumental. Since then, Pete has facilitated over 500 group sessions with men, built a network that spans sectors and continents, and shaped a community of leaders who are committed to living and leading with intention. His work has been featured in The Sunday Times, The Spectator, The Independent, and The Week, and his podcast, The Privileged Man, has hosted guests including Sir Steve Redgrave, Sir Andrew Strauss, and Tim Henman OBE, men willing to talk not just about their triumphs, but their truths.

Through The Monumental Legacy, Pete brings together an extraordinary peer group and a world-class leadership team. This is a space for men who are no longer driven by accumulation, but by alignment. Men who want to shape a powerful next chapter, with clarity, courage, and community.

As Pete says: “Legacy is not about what you leave behind. It is about how you live now. This is where that chapter begins.”

Dr Phil Hopley

Peak Performance Psychiatrist. Trusted Advisor to McLaren F1.

Dr Phil Hopley is one of the UK’s leading experts in mental performance and resilience. A consultant psychiatrist with decades of experience, Phil has worked at the highest levels of sport, business, and leadership, but perhaps nowhere more visibly than his role as performance and wellbeing advisor to McLaren Formula One.

In a sport where milliseconds matter and the psychological stakes are immense, Phil’s work has become a key pillar in McLaren’s rise. His support of drivers, engineers, and leadership across the team is widely regarded as world class. Under his guidance, McLaren has not only sharpened its competitive edge but redefined what mental strength looks like at the elite level — calm under pressure, clear thinking in chaos, and deep confidence in the face of risk.

Phil’s expertise spans elite sport, the military, and corporate boardrooms. He is the founder of Cognacity, a leading consultancy supporting human performance and mental health across sectors. From Olympic athletes to CEOs, Premier League footballers to investment banks, Phil has spent his career helping people operate with clarity, consistency, and emotional control at the moments that matter most.

In The Monumental Legacy, Phil brings all of this to the table. His presence is calm, grounded, and quietly formidable. He does not dominate the room, but he elevates it, offering insights that cut through noise and helping men bring intention to how they live, lead, and relate.

As Phil says: “Performance is not about pressure. It is about preparation, awareness, and recovery. When you master those, you do not just perform better. You live better.”

Kenton Cool

World-Class Mountaineer. Relentless Leader. Guide to the Edge.

Kenton Cool is a legend in the world of high-altitude mountaineering. With 19 summits of Mount Everest, more than any other non-Sherpa climber. Kenton has redefined what is possible in some of the most extreme environments on Earth.

He was the first person in history to complete the Everest Triple Crown; Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse in one continuous push from basecamp. He’s led over 30 successful expeditions in the Greater Ranges. He’s guided explorers like Sir Ranulph Fiennes and Ben Fogle, and made headlines around the world with the first 3G call and first tweet from Everest’s summit. His ascent of Annapurna III earned him a nomination for the prestigious Piolet d’Or, mountaineering’s highest accolade.

Kenton brings this elite pedigree to The Monumental Legacy. His role is to lead men through physically demanding, high-impact expeditions that test limits, sharpen focus, and build unshakable trust. He’s not here to overcomplicate things, he’s here to take you up the mountain and get you back down, safely and stronger.

But what makes Kenton truly remarkable isn’t just his record, it’s his clarity. He knows what it takes to perform when it counts. He knows the cost of complacency and the power of preparation. And he knows that for men seeking purpose in their next chapter, sometimes the best way forward is to go up.

As Kenton puts it: “I’ve stood on the highest point on Earth 19 times. But the real summit, the one that changes you, is what you discover about yourself when the air gets thin and the path gets steep.”

Levison Wood

Levison Wood - World Renowned Explorer. Acclaimed Author. Master of the Journey.

Levison Wood is one of the most celebrated adventurers of our time. A former British Army Paratrooper turned globally recognised explorer, Levison has led pioneering expeditions through some of the most dangerous and remote landscapes on Earth, often with millions watching. He’s walked the length of the Nile, crossed the Himalayas, traversed the Arabian Peninsula, and documented it all in hit television series for Channel 4 and Discovery Channel, watched by audiences around the world.

A bestselling author whose books include Walking the Himalayas, Eastern Horizons, and The Art of Exploration, Levison has been awarded the Edward Stanford Adventure Travel Book of the Year and has worked alongside global institutions like the BBC, National Geographic, and the United Nations. He’s shared stages and projects with names like Bear Grylls, Joanna Lumley, and Prince Harry, and is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and an ambassador for UNICEF.

In The Monumental Legacy, Levison leads not with speeches, but through experience. His curated expeditions challenge men to leave the familiar behind, not just geographically but psychologically. These journeys are designed to wake something up: a deeper perspective, a renewed sense of courage, a reconnection to purpose.

Because for Levison, adventure isn’t about adrenaline. It’s about meaning. And every step into the unknown brings you closer to who you’re meant to become.

As he puts it: “The greatest journeys aren’t across continents, they’re within. The Monumental Legacy is about stepping off the map of expectation and into a life of real meaning, connection, and courage. It’s an expedition every man deserves to take.”

Dave Talbot

Founder of Monumental & Host of The Privileged Man Podcast

Dave Talbot is the man behind the expeditions. With over 20 years of global experience in mountain guiding, expedition logistics, and safety direction, Dave is the operational backbone of The Monumental Legacy, ensuring every experience runs with military level precision, safety, and impact.

Dave’s company has raised over £7 million for UK charities and executed major expeditions, brand events, and film projects across five continents. He’s led and built operations for some of the most trusted names in the world including the BBC, Channel 4, PwC, Boots, Hyundai, Jaguar Land Rover, Suzuki, and various global Superyacht clients. He was the safety director for the international theatre production of Touching the Void, and launched the Jaguar Land Rover Geneva Motor Show event with full responsibility for logistics, safety, and creative delivery.

Dave’s work blends elite mountaineering with creative vision and meticulous execution. He’s climbed and filmed in the Alps, Africa, Canada, the Himalayas, and the Greater Ranges. He’s featured in the BBC’s Coast series, produced branded adventure films with Suzuki and Montane, and led first class safety and technical consulting for high risk projects around the world.

Within The Monumental Legacy, Dave is not only the leader on the ground when on expedition, he’s the quiet constant who ensures every expedition is seamless, secure, and transformative. While others focus on the why, Dave ensures the how is bulletproof. His leadership is unshakeable, his standards exacting, and his passion for adventure deeply contagious.

As he often says: “Real adventure doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built carefully, courageously, and with absolute clarity.”

Sam Pelly

Master Connector. The Magic Behind The Monumental Legacy.

Sam Pelly is the spark in the room. The moment you meet him, you feel it — the warmth, the energy, the genuine interest in who you are. He is not just the man who makes things happen. He is the man who makes people feel something.

Before joining The Monumental Legacy, Sam built a dual career that brought him into rooms and across landscapes few others reach. As the founder of LMH, a successful motorbike expedition company, he led high end adventures across wild and remote terrain. These journeys were as much about human connection as they were about adrenaline and quickly gained attention for their bold vision and immersive spirit.

Alongside LMH, Sam established himself as one of the country’s most sought after photographers, capturing both intimate portraits and landmark events. His ability to connect deeply with his subjects gave his work a rare depth and it did not go unnoticed. Sam’s creative work with LMH and behind the camera led to features in publications including The Financial Times, The Daily Telegraph, Tatler, Vanity Fair, GQ, and Conde Nast Traveller.

Now, Sam brings that same energy, empathy, and experience into The Monumental Legacy. He is the first point of contact for many men and the human thread that holds every journey together. From start to finish, Sam brings joy, humour, and an intuitive ability to make each man feel welcome, understood, and supported.

As Sam says: “People do not remember what you say. They remember how you made them feel. My job is to make sure every man who walks into this space feels held, heard, and lit up again.”
